Dear Friend,

We have received the GREATEST NEWS, and we would like to share it with you – the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ! But first, please think about the following two questions:

1. If you were to die today, do you know for sure that you would go to heaven?

2. If you were to stand before God right now and He were to ask you: “Why should I let you into my heaven?” What would you say?

Do you know that the Bible says there is a way that we can know for SURE whether we are on our way to heaven or not?

I John 5:13 tells us “These things have I written unto you… that ye may know that ye have eternal life…

If you are not absolutely certain about the responses to the above two question, then please read the following verses from the Bible, God’s Holy Word. They will show you how you can settle this most important issue once and for all.

God’s Purpose for Man: To Honor and Serve Himone

God created man to honor, serve, and fellowship with Him. The Bible says:

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” (Revelation 4:11)

“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” (I Corinthians 10:31)

“Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” (Psalm 16:11)

If God’s purpose for man was to honor, serve, and fellowship with Him, why do we experience hardship, conflict, and suffering?

Where do we find Love, Joy & Peace?

Man’s Problem: Sintwo

Man chose to rebel (SIN) against God rather than serve Him. Sin has separated man from God.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2)

What does it mean to sin against God? Sin is breaking God’s law.

“Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” (I John 3:4)

We sin by doing what God has commanded us NOT to do and by NOT DOING what He has told us to do. Therefore, we are sinners by nature and by choice. There is a penalty for sin.

“Therefore to him that knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin.” (James 4:17)

Sin’s Penalty: Deaththree

When man chose to disobey God, he became guilty before God and suffered the resulting penalty: Death! (Genesis 5)

“For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23)

The basic meaning of death is separation. The Bible teaches that there are three types of death:

1. Spiritual death separated man from the life of God (Ephesians 2:1)
2. Physical death separates the soul from the body. (Hebrews 9:27)
3. Eternal death separates the person, both soul & body, from God forever in the Lake of Fire.

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15)

That is the bad news. However, God has provided a way for us out of this hopeless situation.

God’s Provision: Jesus Christfour

Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, came to earth, died on the cross for our sins, and He rose from the dead on the third day. Thus, He paid the penalty for our sins and offers the free Gift of Eternal Life to all men. This act bridged the gulf that separated man from God.

“But God commendeth (showed) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God…” (I Peter 3:18)

So, how do we receive this free Gift of Eternal Life?

Man’s Wrong Response: Self-Effortfive

Throughout history, man has attempted various ways to restore fellowship with God. None have been successful.

“There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” (Proverbs 14:12)

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done…” (Titus 3:5a)

Religion, money, morality, good works, church membership, and baptism – all fall short of achieving Eternal Life.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Man’s Proper Response: Turn and Trustsix

In order to receive this free gift of Eternal Life, we must repent of our sins (turn from self will to the will of God) and put our trust (FAITH) in Jesus Christ ALONE as the only hope of Salvation. (Saved from the penalty of sin)

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)

“Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Acts 20:21)

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…” (Acts 3:19a)

“And they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” (Acts 16:31a)

God’s Promise: Eternal Lifeseven

Jesus said: “He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” (John 5:24)

This verse has three parts:

1. Has Eternal Life
2. Does not come into Judgment
3. Has passed from death into life (Eternal Life with God)

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

“…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b)

When God saved us from our sin, we will experience the love, joy & peace that He wants us to have.

Your Response: Will you trust and repent today?eight

What will you do with Jesus? Will you receive the God’s free gift?

To do so you must:

1. Admit that you have sinned against a holy God and ask Him for forgiveness.
2. Believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God, Who died for you on the cross, rose from the dead and is Lord over ALL.
3. Pray, asking Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior.

If the following example prayer expresses the desire of your heart, you can pray this prayer and Jesus Christ will come into your life as He has promised.

“Dear Lord Jesus: I know that I am a sinner. Thank you for dying on the cross for me. Please forgive my sins and come into my life as my Lord and Savior. Please take control and show me Your will for my life. I pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.”

If you trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior, God has accepted you into His family. You have been born again (John 3:3, 7). You now have assurance of Eternal Life!

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” (I John 5:13)

Here are some steps to follow so that you can grow spiritually:

1. Pray daily. By praying you are communicating with God. (I Thessalonians 5:17)

2. Read the Bible daily. Reading the Bible is having God talk with you and revealing His will for your life through His written Word. (II Timothy 2:15)

3. Attend church regularly to worship and fellowship with other believers (Hebrews10:25)

4. Be baptized. Baptism is a public profession of the inner change that took place the moment you placed your trust in Jesus Christ. It identifies you with Christ. (Acts 8:35-40)

5. Share (witness) with others the commitment you have made. (Acts1:8)
